I also grew up riding horses, well enough to win a national equitation title in my teens. As it happens, excellent training for design.
Equitation is the discipline of how you present yourself and your horse to the world. Web design, at its best, is the same job for a brand.
I started Tiny Pony to pick the projects, talk straight to founders, and ship in weeks instead of quarters.
Before this, I spent over a decade inside the ecomm and marketing teams of beauty and fashion brands, watching good work die under notes like "too chic" and "too editorial" from companies selling luxury shampoo to people who very much wanted things to be too chic.
My father was an art director who won a National Magazine Award. The Ellie (basically a design Oscar) sat around our house for years until I picked it up one day as a teen and said, "Dad, what the fuck is this?" Turns out my whole childhood was design school. Everything after that, fashion design, communications design, competitive equitation, was just extending an education I already had.
So: no committee, no chorus of opinions, no one telling you it's too chic. Just me, and I've been looking at this stuff since before I could name it. If that sounds like the right arrangement, my inbox is open.
Tell me what you're building. I read every inquiry myself and reply within a day. Pippa, the studio Pomeranian, gets the final vote.
